i've been tagged!

i'm brand new to this kind of thing so it took me a lil bit to figure out what i was supposed to do. lol. i was tagged by AuntieKnits7 http://auntieknits7.blogspot.com/ who is in a knitting meetup group that i'm organizing (go down a couple posts and you'll see the "meetup" link. Btw, thanks for thinking of me, AuntieKnits! :)

Here are the questions I am supposed to answer:

1. How much space is left on your Tivo or Comcast box?
Don't have either one

2.Have you ever bought a DVD of a TV series and if so which one?
well i didn't buy it but my dad bought the kids "the little rascals" episodes

3. What was the last TV show that you all watched before reading this message?
i'm currently watching "UFOs: seeing is believing" on ABC

4. List 5 shows you won't miss.
Wife Swap
Lost
Extreme Makeover
Medium (all time favorite right now!)
5 o'clock news. lol.

5. Name 3 people to whom you will pass this stick.
do they have to be people with blogs? lol.

The Knitter's Bible by Claire Crompton

my husband bought me this book while we were in chicago this weekend. it is a really nice book, it's got some nice patterns and projects in it. i can't wait to try them.

for my husband's blanket, i'm going to try the celtic cable stitch for the border but we'll see how that goes since i've never used a cable needle before.

i recommend this book for those who like creative stitches

stockinette stitch Posted by Hello

still trying to figure this thing out

i'm still trying to figure out how to use this blog so please bear with me. lol.

the last few days i've been knitting and playing sims 2 at the same time, which are both my 2 favorite things to do so you can imagine my joy when i figured out that i could knit while playing this game! lol.

my current and only project is a blanket for my husband. i'll try to post a picture of it but am still confused as to how to add pictures to this site. but as for how much i've completed, i'd say i have about 25% percent or maybe even 30%.

how am i making it?
well, i didn't use a pattern for it, i just basically "freehanded" it by casting on 109 stitches on size 8 needles and am doing the stockinette stitch. i am using 3 skeins per row and i intend to make 3 rows plus a border around the outside. so far i have 1 row done and about 75% of the first skein on row 2. the border is the part that i'm mostly looking forward to doing because i seen this pattern that i thought was so cool. what it is, is you knit say 25 stitches and 25 rows then you purl 25 rows and keep switching so it looks like "boxes". it's really hard to explain and i know there's a name of it but i just cannot think of it at the moment.

my next project?
i want to make a felted tote bag with a pattern by fiber trends. i currently use a "fashion bug" canvas tote to carry my project and "purse items" and i truly don't like the bag but i use it cuz it's big and the handles are just right for me. i am debating on if i wanna make the felted tote bag a bright color or a neutral color for daily use.........maybe i'll just make 2! depending on how it goes. lol. i can't start this project until i finished my husband's blanket because i promised him i wouldn't take on any projects.......ugh. lol.

on the road again........
tomorrow morning me and the family are heading down to chicago to visit with family so i am bringing my project with me so i can hopefully knit on the drive. however, i think i'm driving there which stinks cuz i really want to knit. lol. definitely at the hotel room if i don't get too tired from visiting family.

my new blog

i created this because i thought it'd be fun to share my creations with others.

i only began knitting in june 2004 so i am still new to it, i've started on 4 projects but have only finished 2 of them. One of the finished project was a christmas stocking for a lady in town and the other was 2 scarves for my daughter's preschool teachers. I will post the pictures on here later today.
